Ask for a problem, not a referral

Give a happy client a precise description of the person you can help, plus a note they can forward.

Is this a fit?

Try it when

You have at least one satisfied customer and capacity to serve another.

Skip it when

The customer has not seen value yet or you cannot handle another engagement.

Your first test

  1. Choose a client whose problem you can describe clearly without private details.
  2. Describe one peer with that same problem, not an entire industry.
  3. Write a three-sentence forward with a relevant public proof asset.
  4. Make a personal request and track introductions through qualified calls.

A starting template

Do you know one [role] dealing with [specific problem]? We helped with [public, accurate example]. Here’s a short note you can forward if someone comes to mind.

Measure

Qualified introductions and calls, followed by signed work over your usual sales cycle.

When to pause

Ask two suitable clients once. Review after 14 days; do not pressure them or broadcast to their network.

Notes from the field

A useful experiment.
An occasional email.

Start with three short emails to pick, run, and review a marketing experiment. Then occasional tactics and field notes.
