Make the experiment the story

Publish a real business question, your attempt, and what actually happened. Give people a reason to return.

Is this a fit?

Try it when

You can share a meaningful business experiment and its limitations honestly.

Skip it when

You cannot publish outcomes or the topic mainly interests other builders rather than your buyers.

Your first test

  1. Pick one open question your target audience also cares about.
  2. Publish the starting situation, the test and the date you will report back.
  3. Run the smallest version and keep a time and outcome log.
  4. Publish the result, including failures and what you will change next.

A starting template

We’re testing whether [action] helps [audience] achieve [outcome]. Our starting point is [baseline]. Here’s the test; we’ll share the result on [date].

Measure

Relevant returning readers, newsletter opt-ins and replies about the problem.

When to pause

After three installments, review audience fit and effort before committing to a regular series.
